I kind of get tired of reboots, but I think that Mortal Kombat gets a pass on this one, because it’s not called “knock the other guy out… Um… Kombat”. The point is that dozens of characters die each game, and really like three of them can come back as if it’s no big deal. So if you want a story then reboots are pretty much the only way they can do it. I mean… If you care about the Mortal Kombat story, which you really shouldn’t.

That being said, the new Mortal Kombat games have actually been pretty good, which a lot of fighting games haven’t done as well with the conversion to 3d. So that’s pretty impressive to me.
